Virtual Firewall
Activeport has a long list of certified firewall providers. Sign-up with your preferred provider and add your choice of virtual firewall (NFV).
Deploy Faster
Dynamically deploy network services within minutes. Automate the management and provisioning of your network.
Lower Costs
NFV replaces physical components with virtual. Less hardware, less time on site, and an overall reduction in operational costs.
What are NFV and VNFs?
In a nutshell, Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) is network architecture used by service providers to virtualize components of the network.
Within this framework, Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) are deployed as virtual machines (VMs) that are the software form of network hardware, such as firewalls and SIP PBXs. Example – you can load a Mikrotik firewall or Astrix PBX onto the same x86 CPE that you are deploying for Activeport SD-WAN. This technology allows you to utlilise one inexpensive x86 device for multiple network functions.
